After great deals of emprical correlation to match events with dasa lords, we had to make some changes to vimshottari dasa system. With these changes, time seems to be speaking for itself.

In Vimshottari Dasa, First we see the longitude of Moon and then deduct a constant known as Aynamsha from this , which is Precession of equinoxes in Some last 1500 years or So. Scholars have given different values to this. Initially, we tried different values on the data available with us.

Finally we have reached a conclusion that Dasa Periods should be derived from Tropical longitude itself. That is Vimshottari Dasa system with No ayanamsha . Jyotish Tools software has this option.You can also use your existing PC atlas software with this programme. Or manually procedure would be like this. Look at the Longitude of tropical moon and find out in which constellation moon is located at time of birth from the following table. Note the corresponding Lord and its Duration from this table.

Now each constellation is 800 minutes in legth. calculate the balance of dasa, on proportionate basis. Say from the starting point of Constelllation, Moon at birth is at mid point of Constellation, then balance 50 percent period should be taken as Dasa balance. So substract the beginning point of nakshatra from the longitude of Moon, convert the remainder into minutes. Substract this figure from 800 and you get balance minutes of the constellation . To get the proportion for Dasa balance, divide this(Balance minutes of constellation) by 800 and multiply it by number of years for that constellation. These many years would be balance Dasa period for the lord of this constellation at the time of birth. After this , follow the table in its sequence to arrive at subsequent dasa's and their length

Change of Dasa, should also signal the change in pattern of life. So when we ask a person , who has experienced lots of ups and downs, then those periods, should broadly tally with these Dasa blocks.

However Do not commit the mistake of calculating next sub period called Buktis. Dasa follows the linear sequence. To proove this point we will continue with this article for the subs or subperiods of Dasa beween 70 %to 85% This is known as Saturn SubThis is a time when One face either good or bad relating to professional front.

Now let us Calculate the Dasa for Anup Prasad. His Moon is at 26 Leo 45, tropical zodiac i.e. 146-45. From the above table , we find that Purva Phalguni ends at 146-40 and Uttar Phalguni starts at this point, whose ruler is Sun with a Dasa period of 6 years. It means that out of total 800 minutes of uttarphalguni, only 5 minutes have elapsed before birth and balance is 795 minutes. So balance period of Sun Dasa at birth is (795/800 )*6=5.96 years .

Now .96 years is equal to 11.52 months(.96*12 ) and .52 months is equal to 15.6 Days(.52*30 ) or say 16 days. So Sun Dasa balance for anup prasad is 5years 11 months and 16 days.

Since his date of birth is 21 aug 71 , adding above balance to his date of birth would mean that he will enjoy Sun Dasa up to 7 aug 1977.

Now further Dasa's can be calculated by simply adding the number of years to this date.

He has started facing problems with the advent of Rahu Dasa. In Good subs is this Dasa, he would enjoy good results, but negative tune of Dasa lord would remain upt 7 Aug 2012 when Dasa changes to Jupiter.

For calculating the Subs, follow the sequence given in above table.First sub shall always be Ketu and it will be 7/120 proportion of dasa duration. Next sub would be Venus and it would be 20/120 proportion of dasa duration after Ketu sub.
